John’s History with the Conditions

John was diagnosed with asthma in 1972, at just two years old. While his asthma was poorly controlled for much of his childhood, advancements in asthma research mean John has a good level of asthma control as an adult.

John loves teaching and learning about history, and he writes avidly.

In 2007, John started a blog to share insights from his profession. His work runs alongside his other blog exploring the historical context of various respiratory conditions.

John is also a freelance writer for various online health communities about asthma and COPD.

He lives in Ludington, Michigan, close to Lake Michigan. Over the summer months, you'll often find John hanging with his kids at the beach. During winter, you may see him and the kids sledding on the hills near the lake.
